From Your EV Charger Purchase to Installation

Getting your home EV charger installed is simple. We take care of the process from choosing your charger through to having a qualified electrician install and commission it.

1. CHOOSE YOUR CHARGER & REQUEST A QUOTE

Buy from SmartEVCharge or bring your own charger

Choose one of our quality EV chargers, or if you already own a charger, we can install it subject to suitability and Australian electrical requirements.

To prepare your installation quote, we’ll ask for some basic information:

·       Property address and suburb

·       Single or double storey

·       EV make and model

·       Proposed charger location

·       Switchboard location

·       Proposed charger location

·       Distance between Switchboard and charger location

·       Single-phase or three-phase power

·       Photos of inside your switchboard

Provide photos to allow an assessment of access to switchboard and charger location for a more an accurate quote.

2. ACCEPT YOUR QUOTE & BOOK

Clear pricing before we start

We’ll provide a quote covering the proposed installation, which may include:

·       Charger and installation

·       Dedicated electrical circuit

·       Cabling

·       Circuit protection

·       Switchboard work (as required)

·       Additional installation requirements

No additional work is carried out outside the agreed scope  without your request and approval.

Once you accept the quote, we’ll arrange an installation appointment that suits you.

3. INSTALLATION DAY

Our qualified and licensed electrician in accordance with Australian electrical standards and requirements and AS/NZS 3000 (the Wiring Rules) will take care of the rest

Your electrician will attend at the agreed time and:

1.       Inspect the switchboard and installation location

2.       Confirm the agreed installation scope

3.       Install the required electrical circuit and cabling

4.       Mount and connect the EV charger

5.       Install the required electrical protection

6.       Configure the charger and app, where applicable

7.       Test and commission the installation

 

If you are supplying your own charger, we’ll confirm by calling you prior to arrival that it is suitable for installation. If not, we will an alternative.

4. TEST & COMMISSION

Everything is checked before you start charging

Once installed, the electrician will test the charger and electrical installation to ensure it is operating correctly.

We’ll also make sure you understand:

·       How to start and stop charging

·       Charger settings

·       App functions, where applicable

·       Scheduled/off-peak charging

·       Solar charging features, where applicable

5. READY TO CHARGE 

Plug in and enjoy convenient home charging

Your charger is now ready to use.

From choosing the right charger to installation and commissioning, SmartEVCharge manages the process from start to finish.

6. BE READY TO PAY

The installer will provide you with an invoice at the commencement of the installation. This needs to be settled prior to the completion of the installation and before the electrician leave installation site (home or other dwelling).
